Chiropractic

Chiropractic is a health care profession that focuses on disorders of the musculoskeletal system and the nervous system, and the effects of these disorders on general health. Chiropractic care is used most often to treat neuromusculoskeletal complaints, including but not limited to back pain, neck pain, pain in the joints of the arms or legs, and headaches.

Dr. Gail Rees-Jones (nee Daly) completed her Masters Degree in Chiropractic Technology in 2005 at the Department of Chiropractic, Durban Institute of Technology in South Africa. After completing six years of studies she graduated Magna Cum Lauda and was awarded the Dean’s merit for academic excellence.

Exposure to a wide range of sporting fields and their associated injuries (Comrades & Two-Oceans ultra-marathons, Mr. Price Pro International World Champion Surfing, Netball , Rugby and Hockey Nationals) has lead her interest in knee problems which often prove positive results from chiropractic care. Studies done by Gail and her colleague showed that imbalances in the quadriceps muscle of the thigh contribute to knee pain and addressing these imbalances, such as with dry needling, provides significant relief (Daly and Weyer-Henderson 2005).

Since arriving in the UK, Gail has completed post-graduate studies in maternity and paediactrics, both at the Anglo-European College of Chiropractic,Bournemouth and McTimoney College of Chiropractors, Oxford. Gail has found Cranial Work to be effective in correcting Plagiocephaly/Mis-shaped heads and in providing significant relief from colic-like symptoms.

Apart from practising as a chiropractor, Gail has previously lectured at the McTimoney College of Chiropractors, Oxford. She has headed both the Physiology and Imaging & Referral modules and assisted as Technique Instructor.
